Description Managing and Developing Careers focuses on employability and career progression. The subject is one of four subjects in the Management professional core in the Bachelor of Business but is open to all students with an interest in reflecting on career progression in leadership and management-related careers. The subject will utilise portfolio development, case studies, occupational and industry research to assist participants identify and reflect on strategies to facilitate achievement and employability. Successful completion of the subject will result in students creating an ongoing portfolio directed to future employability.

On successful completion of this subject, students should be able to:

  2. Develop strategies and techniques for identifying and managing employability networks;
  3. Develop self-awareness and provide evidence of the skills and knowledge required for employability and career transition;
  4. Identify areas for further career development and put in place their own personal development plan;
  5. Research and reflect on opportunities for individual employability through the creation of a portfolio of achievement.
