Studies of Religion is a multidisciplinary minor that provides a critical study of religion that is inclusive and diverse. Students will have the opportunity to develop their understanding of religion and explore the significance of religion to people and society. The minor includes subjects from history, philosophy and sociology. It examines the nature of religion and belief systems, including the influence, expression and relevance of religion and belief systems to contemporary Australia. This minor meets NSW Education Standards (NESA) content requirements for students who wish to teach Studies of Religion in NSW Secondary Schools. The skills and knowledge acquired can also be used for career pathways in the public sector, teaching, research, curating, law or politics.
