Undergraduate Preparation Program – Nursing/Health Science
This program applies to students who commenced in Term 3, 2022 or later.
This program is a university entry program designed for domestic students who have completed a minimum of year 12 or its equivalent. The program provides an academic entry pathway to first year undergraduate study or its equivalent. Students complete forty five (45) credit points over one term. Subjects are designed to provide students with the generic skills needed for success at university in addition to more specialised discipline specific subjects intended to provide students with curriculum knowledge and skills to be successful in Health Science or Nursing.

Successful completion of this course, achievement of the required GPA and satisfying any relevant English language proficiency requirements will provide a pathway to the following programs.
Bachelor of Nursing
Please note that additional English language proficiency requirements set by the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC) must be declared and met before you are eligible to commence study in the Bachelor of Nursing at Western Sydney University. This program is open to Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents aged 17 years or over and who have completed Australian Year 11 or a comparable educational level and are not currently enrolled in or completing Year 12 in the same year of intended admission.

To graduate from this program, students must meet the following requirements.
- Complete all the subjects
- Pass LANG 0005 Academic English (WSTC) with a minimum C grade
- Achieve a GPA of 5.5 or higher.
In order to transition to a Diploma or Bachelor course at Western, students must meet the program completion rules. In addition, students must meet the relevant GPA entry requirements and any other admission criteria, which may include English language proficiency requirements or the attainment of specific grades, for entry into their intended diploma or undergraduate degree.
