This subject considers the challenges in the financial services environment that require strong ethical values and professional judgement. Ethical decision making is a fundamental requirement of good business practice. This subject will consider the importance of ethics, the FASEA Code of Ethics, how to apply different ethical frameworks for decision making and the meaning of being a professional in financial services. This subject is available as a standalone bridging subject which is accredited by the Financial Adviser Standards and Ethics Authority (FASEA) having met the FASEA curriculum and standards requirements.

Students explore a range of practices and strategies to a sustainable business operation, learning why environmental sustainability is the world's most challenging and complex issue. As part of group work projects, students investigate methods and tools to analyse environmental management practices, determine environmental risks, and develop associated mitigation strategies. Additionally environmental management systems and relevant international standards are used to evaluate business environmental performance in real-world cases and emerging environmental management initiatives, such as the circular economy, natural capital accounting, and environmental and social profit and loss.

As an integrating subject, it demands participants bring together their knowledge and curiosity to develop recommendations in a format that can showcase their achievements. In Business Project A students develop a project proposal that is completed in Business Project B.

The internship capstone subjects are designed for students who want to gain industry experience and further their studies through project-based learning. Internship A is the first of two capstone subjects that require students to undertake a research project in their chosen field whilst attending an industry-based internship. In Internship A students will identify a business problem, scope a research project that explores the problem and carry out the early stages of the project. This project will be continued, finalised and reported on in BUSM 7119 Internship B.

The Internship capstone is designed for students who want to gain industry experience and further their studies through project-based learning. Internship B is the second of two capstone subjects that require students to undertake a research project in their chosen field whilst attending an industry-based internship. In Internship B students carry finalise the workplace research project begun in BUSM 7118 Internship A and present their findings to an industry and academic audience.

Applied Business Research Project I is one of the two capstone subjects in the MBA Advanced Business Research, specialisation. It will enable students to apply the business research knowledge and skills they have learned in the four Specialist Knowledge Subjects of the major and receive direct experience in practice-oriented research. They will conduct a business research project under the supervision of an academic researcher. The student enrolment in Applied Business Research Project I is through a selection process based on academic performance in the four Specialist Knowledge Subjects of the major.
