Description This subject introduces students to legal principles and concepts required to analyse how the parties’ respective liability is established and how impacts of delay and disruption are assessed in construction projects in Australia and internationally. Students will examine key issues, concepts, topics that are specific to delay and disruption investigation, analysis and resolution.

- Analyse legislative framework in relation to delay and disruption in construction and engineering projects in Australia and internationally
- Examine the impacts and how various parties’ respective liability is established in delay and disruption in construction projects
- Explore delay analysis methods and assessment methods of loss caused by disruption in construction projects
- Apply contracts and relevant legal principles in the analysis and resolution of delay and disruption matters
- Conduct research and enquiry-based approaches to develop well-informed and persuasive arguments, orally and in writing
- Facilitate collaborative approaches to solve practical construction problem situations
