Description This subject aims to equip students with knowledge about the structural aspects of language. Students will learn to describe, analyse and reflect on the structure and meaning of linguistic elements from word to sentence level. Using examples from different languages, including Australian Indigenous languages and other languages spoken in Australia, this subject will provide students with an understanding of how structure and meaning are connected, how they link up with other areas of linguistics, and how research in this field is relevant to the linguistic ecology of Australia.
