Description This subject explores a variety of environmental issues with a focus on emerging environmental issues. The relationships between human health and environmental health are explored through a number of case studies. Concepts explored include 21st Century contaminants, noise, energy and water. Through a combination of case studies and practical field experience, students will develop the skills and knowledge appropriate to develop solutions to a variety of environmental issues.

Restrictions
Students must be enrolled at Western Sydney University, The College. Students enrolled in Extended Diplomas must pass 40 credit points from the preparatory subjects listed in the program structure prior to enrolling in this University level subject.

- Identify and explain the essential characteristics of environmental noise.
- Monitor, assess and make appropriate recommendations to address environmental noise issues.

- Demonstrate critical thinking by identifying solutions to a chosen environmental issue
