This subject builds on Introduction to Working with Families and Communities and focuses on direct practice skills with individuals and families in welfare and community settings. Students examine contemporary theories of direct practice and build upon their ability to use theory to reflect upon and develop practice skills. There is an emphasis on safe, inclusive and responsive practice with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples with a focus on trauma informed practice.
