The Graduate Diploma in Australian Migration Law provides graduates with a professional educational qualification to specialise in Australian immigration and refugee law. The program is offered mainly online, providing graduates with both flexibility and the logical structure of a planned migration program. Graduates obtain comprehensive knowledge of Australian migration legislation, jurisprudence and policy. As a graduate you will have developed and cultivated ethical and professional standards. The Diploma is accredited by the Department of Home Affairs as a “prescribed program” under the Migration Act 1958 (Cth).

Note: Students will be required to undertake one compulsory weekend workshop on campus in Sydney to successfully complete this program.

Applicants must have successfully completed a Bachelor degree or higher in any discipline

Or

Two years’ (full time equivalent) relevant and current professional work experience that demonstrates potential to pursue graduate studies. Applicants do not require a law degree.

Applicants seeking admission on the basis of work experience must support their application with a Statement of Service for all work experience listed on the application.

Applicants will be assessed by the School of Law Course Convenor (or, where the Course Convenor is unavailable, the assessment may be made by a nominated delegate being any one of the following: the Dean, the Deputy Dean, or the Director Academic Program LLB) on a case by case basis to ensure they have the ability to complete graduate level study.

Overseas qualifications must be deemed by the Australian Education International - National Office of Overseas Skills Recognition (AEI-NOOSR) to be equivalent to Australian qualifications in order to be considered by UAC and Western Sydney University.
