The Graduate Diploma in Allergic Diseases is an exit degree for medical practitioners in clinical practice who are enrolled in the Master of Medicine (Allergic Diseases). Students who successfully complete this two year program will have an in depth understanding of the scientific basis and clinical aspects of allergic diseases including mental health and nutrition. Supervised clinical experiences, practical skills workshops and conference attendance will enable students to develop their ability to use theoretical knowledge and diagnostic and therapeutic skills effectively in clinical allergy practice.

Program Structure

Qualification for this award requires the successful completion of 80 credit points which include the subjects listed in the recommended sequence below.

Note: The yearlong subject MEDI 7009 Clinical Allergy will consist of 50 hours of supervised consultation of patients with allergic disease within the setting of a specialist Immunology/Allergy clinic. Students will also need to attend the Australasian Society of Clinical Immunology and Allergy (ASCIA) Annual Scientific Meeting and the annual MacArthur Series in Immunology and take part in two program-specific workshops.
