This specialisation links subjects from the School of Engineering, Design and Built Environment, and the School of Social Sciences to develop key practice skills in the humanitarian and development sectors. Using innovative materials co-designed and delivered with industry partners (e.g. Engineers Without Borders, RedR) students will gain comprehensive knowledge and socio-technical skills for dealing with real-world humanitarian problems via sustainable, community-centered approaches. It offers opportunities to co-develop change with regional and international industry partners and local communities in other countries to develop humanitarian engineering interventions within this emerging career pathway.
