Description This subject explores the interdependent nature of human health and that of the environment, both natural and urban. Concepts explored include 21st Century contaminants, noise, energy and water. Through a combination of case studies and practical field experience, students will develop the skills and knowledge appropriate to develop solutions to a variety of environmental health issues.

Students must be enrolled at The College.

Students enrolled in Extended Diploma course 7122 Diploma in Science Extended – Science, must have passed 40 CPs of preparatory subjects in order to enrol in this subject.

  2. Identify and explain the essential characteristics of environmental noise. 
  3. Monitor, assess and make appropriate recommendations to address environmental noise issues.
  4. Identify and explain the legal and administrative components of noise.
  5. Identify relevant environmental legislation and policy.
  6. Demonstrate competency in academic writing.
  7. Research and communicate a case study of an environmental issue 
  8. Demonstrate critical thinking by identifying solutions to a chosen environmental issue
