The Graduate Diploma in Child and Family Health (Karitane) aims to provide Registered Nurses and Registered Midwives with theoretical knowledge and associated skills that prepare them to work autonomously and across a variety of clinical settings with children and families. Graduates will be able to apply advanced practice, concepts and analysis and lead practice to promote optimal health outcomes for children and families. Students who successfully complete this program may transfer into the Master of Child and Family Health (Karitane).

Early Exit

Students may exit this program on completion of 40 credit points with a 4715 Graduate Certificate in Child and Family Health (Karitane)

Admission

Candidature for admission to the Graduate Diploma in Child & Family Health (Karitane) is based on the following requirements:

Registered Nurse or Midwife (currently registered to practice with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency - Nursing and Midwifery). Any other type of registration (non-practicing, limited, or student) is not acceptable for this program

And

Completion of an undergraduate degree (AQF Level 7 or equivalent), in any discipline

And

One year full-time equivalent work experience as a registered nurse or registered midwife within the last five years.

Applicants seeking admission on the basis of work experience must support their application with a Statement of Service for all work experience listed on the application.
