This program applies to students who commenced in 2015 or later.

The Bachelor of Languages and Linguistics is a three-year degree designed to develop students skills and expertise in languages, linguistics, inter-lingual and inter-cultural communication. The program consists of

  • a major in a language other than English (LOTE),
  • a major in Linguistics,
  • four Bachelor of Arts generic core subjects, and
  • 40 credit points of elective subjects (which may be used towards a minor in another language).

The Bachelor of Languages and Linguistics program equips graduates to use their language and linguistics skills in professional settings such as teaching, interpreting and translation, journalism, business or international relations. Employment opportunities may be found in the State and Commonwealth public service, overseas organisations, the media, business and industry, education and research.
