Description This subject will provide students with exposure to problems with which finance professionals are confronted in their daily work. They will learn about and examine the multi-dimensional nature of the issues addressed by applied finance professional in real-life through combined presentations with industry practitioners. Students will need to consider the nature of problems, propose solutions using their cumulative applied finance and fintech skills, as well as address how realistic the solutions they propose are. They will undertake presentations of their studies to industry and will systematically reflect on their learnings and contributions to industry.

- Introduction to engagement in Applied Finance and FinTech
- Presentation on datasets including Factset and software platforms
- Presentations by industry on issues and factors to be considered and expectations of output
- Proposal writing in applied finance and FinTech industries and their use
- Critical analysis of historical data, both quantitative and qualitative, from diverse sources
- Models for forecasting and sensitivity testings
- Writing industry style reports and presentations techniques
- How to write diaries of activities and self-reflection reports and their use in applied finance and FinTech industry
