Work Integrated Learning

Western Sydney University seeks to enhance student learning experiences by enabling students to engage in the culture, expectations and practices of their profession or discipline.  This program includes a placement or other community-based unpaid practical experience.

There is a mandatory work component required for completion of this program. Students will be required to meet the requirements of health services where practical experiences occur.

Existing arrangements for Clinical Practicum with NSW Health, Private Health Care and Not For Profit providers will be continued. These arrangements are formalised in Memoranda of Understanding between Local Health Districts (in metropolitan, rural and remote areas), Western Sydney University and the School of Nursing and Midwifery for the provision of professional practice experience placements in health care facilities. Regular meetings are held with the clinical educators and facilities.
